❗️It’s important to note that lots of people can relate to ADHD symptoms. For example, just because you are forgetful or struggle to manage time doesn’t necessarily mean you have ADHD. It’s common that those with ADHD suffer from most, if not all, inattentive and/or hyperactive symptoms. It also needs to be evident that it impacts daily life, whether it be at home, work, academically, socially etc.❗️
You can access free ADHD self assessment tools (I’ll pop the link to one in my bio link)
However, please remember this is just a guide and in order to be receive a clinic diagnosis of ADHD you must make an appointment / assessment with a psychiatrist or other qualified professional. 👩⚕️
⏳ Unfortunately for adults, the waiting list for ADHD assessment is currently around 2-3 years. However, there are plenty of private providers that offer paid assessments, also virtually.
💊 If you are diagnosed with ADHD you will then be talked through treatment options such as medication and/or therapy. Not that you do not have to go down either route and you may be happy to manage your symptoms yourself.
The journey to discovery, assessment and diagnosis can be an extremely emotional time so remember to be kind to yourself and surround yourself with supportive people! 🧡
Remember, you are not alone and you have one truly amazing brain! 🙌🏼
